My path to architecture has been far from traditional. With a background rooted in mathematics and engineering technologist, I spent over five years navigating the insurance and oil & gas industries. Yet, I often felt disconnected—torn between analytical problem-solving and a creative impulse waiting to be explored.

 

During the energy market downturn, I began taking on small drafting contracts for residential additions and developments, leveraging connections from my engineering career. That experience proved transformative, unveiling the intricate beauty of architecture and igniting a passion I hadn’t realized was there.

 

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working on a variety of residential and commercial projects. However, the deeper I ventured into the field, the more I recognized the need to build a stronger foundation in architecture and building science. This realization led me back to school at SAIT, where I’ve been refining my technical skills and exploring new design methods.

 

Today, I combine real-world industry experience with academic knowledge to approach projects holistically. Every project presents an opportunity to grow, experiment, and challenge conventions—bringing my analytical mindset and creative instincts together to create meaningful, functional spaces.
